She worked predominantly in Telugu and Tamil Films whereas very less in Hindi Films. She established herself as one of the Leading Actresses of South Indian Cinema by receiving 3 Filmfare Awards.

She started her acting career with a Guest Role as a Child Artist in her Father's Film "Hey Ram, 2000". Later she started her Adult acting debut in film "Luck, Bollywood Drama Thriller, 2009" which was a failure. She got Critical Acclaim for her role in "Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Tollywood Fantasy, 2011", "Oh My Friend, 2011" and "7aum Arivu, Tamil Film, 2011".

Later the successful films of Gabbar Singh (2012), Balupu (2013), Puli (2015) and Srimanthudu (2015) established herself as one of the leading contemporary actress in Telugu and Tamil Film Industry. Shruti Haasan was selected as a "Most Desirable Woman" in the poll conducted by Chennai Times. She also acted in successful Bollywood Films "Ramaiya Vastavaiya, 2013" and "Gabbar is Back, 2015".

Besides Acting, Shruti has an Extra-Ordinary talent of Singing and Playing Music. She established herself as one of the Best Playback Singer in India.
